This Saturday: EARLY HITCHCOCK

Alfred Hitchcock's early films offer a fascinating glimpse into the nascent genius and artistic development of the man who perfected the thriller genre. Hitchcock's European films clearly exhibit the influence of German Expressionism, and their technical bravado and experimentalism reflect Hitch's training in mechanics, industrial design, and acoustics. Most importantly, Hitchcock's early films demonstrate an intense, lifelong fascination with scene construction and visual narrative, which flowered brilliantly in such later works as “Psycho” and “Vertigo.”
