Based on his experience as President Barack Obama's Science Advisor through both terms, John Holdren discusses how priorities and policies for science, technology, and innovation (ST&I) have been developed under Obama; how specific challenges and opportunities relating to ST&I for economic prosperity, environmental sustainability, and national security have been approached; and the role that partnerships across the public, private, academic, and civil-society sectors and across nations have played and must continue to play.
