Born in Iran, the San Diego-based Fary Moini describes her passion for providing education to boys and girls in Afghanistan that had been banned from school by the Taliban. After raising $250,000 she built her first school in 2004 in Jalalabad and has now helped educate some 5500 Afghan students. Moini is presented by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UC San Diego with support from the La Jolla Golden Triangle Rotary Club. (#19621)
