The Afro Inventions featured in this program were inspired by the jazz baroque of the Modern Jazz Quartet, the contrapuntal stylings of jazz pianist Billy Taylor and, of course, the inventions of Johann Sebastian Bach. This concert features works, both music and written, by Earl Stewart, Professor in the Department of Black Studies at UC Santa Barbara. (#11462)
