Treating the Invisible Wounds of War: Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans, Families and Care Providers

This series, sponsored by UCSF and The Coming Home Project, aims to help prepare health professionals, psychotherapists and family members to care for returning soldiers suffering from the invisible wounds of combat-related maladies such as PTSD, major depression and traumatic brain injury. Because of the unique combat hazards of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the current incidence of these kinds of invisible injuries is extremely high, with estimates among returning servicepersons as high as 25-40%.
