Climate change and Southern California Ecosystems

Elsa Cleland is an assistant professor in the Division of Biological Sciences at UC San Diego where she studies the responses of plant communities and ecosystems to global environmental changes, such as nitrogen deposition, elevated CO2, shifting precipitation, and invasive species. She is also interested in strategies for restoration of native plant communities in the context of present and future environmental changes. She received her Ph.D. from Stanford University and her B.S. from Duke University.
