The following essay and research project prompts will help you gain a deeper understanding of the subject.

Research Prompt

People have been tinkering with evolution for thousands of years through artificial selection. We looked at how humans have bred dogs for specific characteristics either for show or for work. We also saw how humans have taken wild mustard plant and created various other vegetables. Research three other forms of artificial selection and explain how and why humans tinkered with natural selection to artificially select for specific traits.

Essay Prompt

Explain why a dolphin and a wolf are more closely related then a dolphin and a shark. Explain how a raccoon and a bear are more closely related than an opossum. Explain how a tunicate is more closely related to a human than a sponge. How does this help us understand evolution better?

Essay Prompt

Explain how embryology and genetics are connected and how these two areas of science help further our understanding of evolution.
